I feel lied to about Poboy Express

Buddy and I stopped in while on the way to Academy. Was looking for something easy to eat and I remember reading a thread on here where many said it was good. Below is a link to said thread: Beware: Lies Ahead
Walked in and the two women at the counter couldn't care less about taking our order or even talking while making eye contact. Congrats to the owners on hiring the cheapest labor possible.
Ordered a roast beef supreme with onion rings. Sandwich has a few layers of cheap deli roast beef and ham with processed Swiss cheese product. So disappointing. Gravy comes on the side and its powdered gravy mix and water. The gravy helped the sandwich which was just bland and boring. Onion rings were soggy and greasy and came with this atrocious dipping sauce that tasted like creamy vinegar
Friend got a muffuletta and it was just a bad version of the sandwich. Bland and boring. Sweet potato fries were okay. Frozen from a bag so whatever. Came with a plastic container of maple syrup to dip in. Ugh.
Sticky tables and beer machines not working added to the ambiance. Anyway, this place sucks and I'm looking forward to whatever culinary disaster takes it place in 6-8 months.

The one on Perkins has always been like this.

I've been to the one on Perkins a couple of times over the last decade, it was serviceable in a very average kind of way. I ate at the one on Siegen once, and the food and service were so bad, it felt like they stole my money.

In my experience, the service is so-so, shrimp po-boy is pretty good, onion rings are hit and miss. Nothing great, but not terrible IMO.
That being said, ordering a muff at a place like that (not even counting its name: Po-Boy Express) is setting yourself up for disaster. Personally, I wouldn't order anything there that isn't fried.

I disagree. If it's on the menu then the restaurant should make an effort to put forth the best product they can. If they can't make a good product, then remove it from the menu.

This place is awful...do not waste your money

Eh...I agree to an extent, but not in this instance. A good muffeletta requires good, quality ingredients. Po-boy Express is not a place where one would expect good, quality ingredients. It's a fast food po-boy place.

I like their shrimp po-boy but their onion rings are absolutely awful. They also over-season their fries. The service is indeed bad but that is why I only use the drive-through.

I've never cared for poboy express
The food isn't good and the inside is filthy

The name of the place didn't tip me off that it was fast food. Poboys shouldn't exactly take long to make...

I have read the good reviews of PE and always wondered how anyone could have standards that low. I have been maybe 10 times in the 30 years I have lived in BR and cannot figure out how they manage to stay in business. I can stop at Winn Dixie and buy the cheapest ingredients they have and make a better sandwich then PE.
Since they use soft mushy bread it isn't even a poboy, I figure the crap bread means its just BR peeps who don't know a what real poboy is about.

That's bullshite. A proper poboy can be done just as fast. It's a sandwich. In general, it's a grab and go type of meal to begin with. No excuse to not have completely made from scratch and fresh ingredients.

I eat at the one on Cedarcrest a couple times a month. Love the shrimp poboy.

Well they are owned and run by the Tally Ban which isn't really known as South Louisiana or more specifically (so as not to offend my Irish Channel brethren) New Orleans so their interpretation may be limited. Much like the Brother's of Brother's Fried Chicken fame. They aren't exactly Mamie my families antebellum maid or the likes of Willie Mae or Austin Leslie therefore I discount their version of fried chicken.
Probably get some synthetic swag, a pine tree air freshener and an ISIS application though.
If you want something authentic, buy from authentic people. Go just a bit farther north across old Hammond and hit that wonderful Italian place Little Ceasars. Molto buono.
