Best Stop in Scott for cracklins and boudin
My dad swears by their cracklins.

Great food stops:
Covington, LA: Buster's place in downtown Covington makes the best oyster po'boy I've ever had.
Port Allen, LA: The second best oyster po'boy in the land (which is half the price of the #1) can be found here at the River Queen Drive Inn (ask for the spicy mayo). They also have solid burgers and everything else. Food is delicious and dirt cheap.
Also, one of the most tender briskets you'll ever eat can be found here at Couyan's (ask for it "moist").
Port Allen (Lobdel): cracklin's, smoked boudin, stuffed chicken patties, wings, pepperjack stuffed boudin balls, & pistolettes. If you're passing through on a Wednesday, their rib special is unbelievably good.
Breaux Bridge, LA: Poche's for boudin.
Scott, LA: Best Stop for boudin & cracklin's
Detour potential: The Basin Bridge between BR and Lafayette is often impassable due to traffic and accidents, so in the case of a detour to Highway 190, stop in Krotz Spring's for Billy's Boudin. Kartchner's Grocery is also there with some of the best seafood boudin you can find.

Stopped at Billy's in Scott on the way. The cracklins, boudin, and pepper jack boudin balls were so good I stopped on the way back too. Took home a few pounds too!

Do the Scott exit trifecta for the win.
And report back

I'll give you something a little different than the rest, Tasterite Jamaican Restaurant in Lake Charles. Less than half a mile from I-10 and incredible food. If you're lucky they'll have goat on the menu that day. It's in a somewhat sketchy area but if you go before dark you'll be fine.

I second Poche's in Breaux Bridge.
Chef Roy's right off the interstate in Rayne Louisiana is the best seafood gumbo I have ever had.

The ride wasn't bad if I kept the windows down.

Of course. Stopped at the new one in Baytown Friday. That place is the target of gas stations
The BBQ sandwich was delicious

If they would build a Buc-ee's anywhere in South Louisiana, I would cry tears of joy.

Poche's is only a mile off the interstate in Breaux Bridge and has great lunch plates
Second this, good étouffée. Stop at Billy's afterward for some boudin and cracklins for later.

My favorite thing at Billy's is the boudin egg roll with pepper jack cheese. It's decadent perfection.

Did you get any of the smoked boudin? That stuff is like crack to me.
