St. Charles and Poydras exits are the best in the state. Cased rice and pork and stuffed chicken get old after a while.

Everything in the French Quarter and CBD is closer to I-10 than Best Stop is in Scott.

In other words, the Orleans Ave and Poydras exits of I-10 are both much better.

What in the hell does this mean?

Any exit with a Whataburger is better.

I enjoy a good Whataburger when traveling. It's my favorite fast food burger.

But if I can have top-tier boudin, or crawfish pies, or a fried shrimp, oyster and crab meat poboy instead, then Whataburger is absolutely not necessary.

C'mon man. A specialty food store is so much more than boudin.

IMO, for that, you would need to venture 53 miles farther west on I-10 to Exit 44, head south about 1.5 miles to Rabideaux's.

Teets in Ville Platte and the aforementioned Kartchers are also in the discussion. Just one man's spot on opinion.

Rita's in Iota (Gotte's Cove) is every bit as good for smoked sausage. Also, Peto's (Exit 61) in Roanoke.

I agree that Rabideaux's and Teet's is also very good.

drive one exit down to Duson for the best boudin and boudin balls in Louisiana at Rascals

I picked up a shrimp poboy there Sunday afternoon. It must have had 3 dozen decent sized shrimp on it.

This. I have been to countless "Specialty Meat" stores and its all the same shite.

Boudin
Boudin Balls
Stuffed Chickens
Stuffed Porkchops
Steaks covered in Tony's
Sausage
Rabbit
Frozen Twice Baked Potatoes
Gumbo base
Rice Dressing base
Cracklin under a lamp

Seen one, seen 'em all

Food options within one mile of the I-10 Orleans Avenue exit include:

Galatoire's
Brennan's
GW Fins
Arnaud's
Bayona
Antoine's
Doris Metropolitan
Tableau
Broussard's
Sylvain
Dooky Chase
Willie Mae's
Gabrielle
Crescent City Steak House
Lil Dizzy's
Cafe Amelie
Felix's
Killer Poboys
Mahony's
Cafe du Monde
Coop's Place
Port of Call
Verti Marte
Orange Store
Key's Fuel Mart
Manchu Food Store

I love boudin as much as the next guy, and more than most (NuNu's FTW).

But the Scott exit can't hang wit dat.
