I never see anyone there. It’s been open now for what, 15+ years. It’s going to put live Red Lobster at the mall.
I’m guessing they survive on their bar, I don’t know.

When I lived in Destin, it never ceased to amaze me how the Red Lobster in Destin and the one in Ft Walton would always be packed when there are so many other local places to go

Red Lobster

I have never been to Red Lobster (because I don't like chains) in my life so I can't say if it's bad or good, but the one in Metairie next to the mall is packed every time I pass.

Always puzzles me.

I went to RL here in BR one time because my youngest wanted it for her birthday.

The best thing there other than the biscuits, was my daughter’s child’s plate.

I've eaten at Red Lobster maybe 3 times in my life and not in 15 years or so. I remember everything tastes the same and all soaked in butter. Maybe my memory isn't correct, but I don't know how anyone would like that. I'm not sure that I've been to Joe's.

I have no clue about Joe's. Food sucks and the place always looks empty.

I've only been to RL once (as a child) and the only thing I remember getting is coconut shrimp. I don't even remember the biscuits that people say are good. I love coconut shrimp though, so I'm sure child-me enjoyed.

Went to Joe's once as a kid and I have no idea what we ate, but I remember the waiters were purposely really loud. The guy waiting on us stood on our table and yelled the order to the kitchen (I guess to be funny?) and I remember my parents being kinda grossed out/unamused.

Many middle/low income people aren't looking for the best "local" spot. They are looking for a name they know. Joe's is on TV ads.

My wife and kids likeTexas Roadhouse. I don't think it's "bad" by any means, but it's not my idea of a good steak house. Still, every time I go (about 2-3 times a year) the place is slammed.

Places like Joe's may not be where I want to eat (particularly in a region where fresh seafood is readily available), but who am I to judge where people chose to spend there money?

I’m not slamming people from going to Joe’s (or Red Lobster). I’m wondering how it is staying open in BR. I never see anyone there. The same with RL at the mall. After a year or so after opening, it’s a ghost town. Drive by RL on Saturday night, the parking lot isn’t even half full.

It's open because trashy people like shitty cheap seafood. BR has plenty enough of that element to keep Joe's and RL in business as well as Applebee's, Chili's and The Olive Garden.

That’s not the answer, because even the trashy people don’t go there.

Applebee’s, Olive Garden, etc are not very good either, but they stay packed. Joe’s and Red Lobster stay empty.

The average person is not a very adventurous eater. The want something they are familiar with and are scared to try something new.

The only chains I can tolerate are the steakhouse ones tbh. Logan’s is ok and if I’m traveling and need to stop for food In an unfamiliar place I usually go here. Decent 16 oz ribeye for 20 bucks

Because BR has shite restaurants and the quality is not noticeably different.
