Home Run Inn Classic Pepperoni frozen pizza

So this is the highest rated pizza on this list. Anyone ever had it? Looks like Winn Dixie and Whole foods carries it.
"1. Home Run Inn Classic Pepperoni
Generally speaking, it's best to ignore internet comments. I'm sorry. I'm sure you're all lovely people, but sometimes you're just insane. But following the original publication of this article, the sheer volume of people touting the virtues of this Chicago-area favorite made it all but necessary to taste, and luckily Home Run Inn can now be found nationwide, if you know where to look. (I found it at Whole Foods.) Turns out, you were right, commenters! About this pizza. Not about the world being flat.
This isn't the pizza you imagine when you crave a quick fix, unless you grew up with it in Chicago and went to a very specific pizzeria (called Home Run Inn, in case you didn't realize it). A deep-dish or Chicago thin-crust this ain't: It's more a hybrid, taking the butteriness of a deep-dish, then flattening it out. The crust is dense, rich, and buttery rather than fluffy, and tastes a lot like a mix between a cracker and a savory pie crust. But when it mingles with the slightly sweet and tangy sauce, the blanket of immaculately salty and stretchy mozz, and the mildly spicy uncured pepperoni, some sort of magical alchemy occurs. No, this isn't what you were imagining when you decided to get a pizza at the grocery store. It's better. The best frozen pizza on the market, in fact. Time to start questioning this spherical world "science."

Screaming Sicilian FTW
ETA: HRI pizza is not that good IMO...the crust is weird. But, I live in the Chicago Burbs, and Palermo's and Connie's frozen pizzas are much better
Screaming Sicilian, not Italian

I have had it about 10 times. It`s pretty good. It has a different taste to it, but overall I liked it. Hard to describe, its the pepperoni that is uncured I think that gives it the different flavor. I really liked the crust.
I waited till it was on sale at Winn Dixie before I bought it. I don`t have a WD close by anymore, so I haven't eaten it since before the flood.

It's pretty good, but it has a really different style crust. Real buttery and flaky, almost like a compressed croissant.
Freshetta Brick Oven is still my favorite frozen pizza. The Digiorno Pizzeria ones are pretty good too.

I really like it - get the sausage and pepperoni. Normally buy the regular crust not the thin. The Publix near me carries them.

May be really good, but near my house i just looked and i think it's $9. I'm more of a $4 frozen pizza guy or else it isn't worth it to me

Publix has them. They make a good frozen pizza. HRI and Screamin' Sicilian are my favorites when on sale.

That`s why I waited until they were 2 for $10 on sale at WD.

Screamin' Sicillian is by far the best frozen pizza I have ever had and as a lazy bachelor I eat a lot of frozen pizza.
Home Run isn't even a pimple on Screamin' Sicillian's arse.
I'd be willing to bet money that SS has triple the weight in toppings that HRI does.

Haven't tried that one but I always have 2 Tony's pepperoni pizzas in my freezer for the 2 young chaps. They like it and destroy a whole one, not to mention it's $2.99 at Rouses

This. My kids prefer it to the chain pizza. I offer to get them Dominos / Pizza Hut / Papa Johns but they always rather Screaming Sicilian. I never thought I would see that day. I also think it's the best frozen pizza I have tried and I have tried many over the past 50 years.

Damn...that looks legit. Wonder if Rouse carries that?

That does look good. I may need to get both for science.

I thought the SS was kind of bland, but only had it once. They do have good marketing because the box makes you think the pizza is really good.

Wal Mart is always around $5-$6, and they carry almost all of the varieties, including the single serving pizza.
The post above shows not at Rouse's, but Super 1 does carry them.
