Blue Oak is good af, but winning last year was so rigged.

I’m curious why some say this. Aren’t the judges ignorant to who each dish is made by?

I'm surprised to see all of the complaints about the wristbands. I thought it was great and I had zero problems swapping mine out on Friday night. I had already created an intellifest account online the day before so that made it even easier. It's really not that hard to figure out for any person with half a brain. You can go online on your phone and "top-up" without having to stand in line.

Weather was perfect
Music was killer
Food was outstanding as always

Amazing event and for an even more amazing cause. Already looking forward to next year.

Gootee Que, which I assumed was Gootee Construction

Kinda douchey to use your business name in your team name at Hogs ya?

Like there was a team and it was the guys name followed by State Farm agent

Swine Krewe won with “piggy macaroons” I believe. They usually have some type of sweet savory dish that does well

How about them selling out for a charity event? I get there can only be so many people but it was not overly crowded yet they sold out. What gives?

I don't know about that. It seems smart to cap it. It's not like they didn't raise a shitton of money.

I talked to a guy yesterday that went for the first time. Spent an hour riding around looking for parking and his three year old (probably a bad idea to bring him) got tired and cranky and fell asleep. After he finally found a spot and walked up and saw how long the line was he turned around and went back home. He had already purchased his tickets, but just didn't think it was worth it.

Probably some poor planning on his part, but he had never been and didn't know what to expect.

By 3pm, places were running out of food. By 5, it was slim pickins. I think capping it was smart. Also, it definitely was crowded. Not unbearable but certainly full.

Yeah I really don’t understand how it was hard for anyone to figure out. Very straight forward process.

The winning "Porkpourri" from the Swine Krewe was an apple and pork belly tarte tatin with pork infused whipped cream, bacon caramel, and lardons on top.

You mean like...

Blue Oak BBQ, Company Burger, Fox Bros Bar-B-Q, Frey Smoked Meat Co, Ubon's BBQ, Central City BBQ or Moe’s Original Bar B Que?

...just to name a few.

The answer is no. No it is not.

Thanks for all that came out. We knew there would be some hiccups with implementing RFID on such a huge scale, but found once people got into field, their experience with it was mainly positive.

We will probably do more things to get bracelets into people's hands faster (mailing, box office open for week ahead, etc...). As far as selling out, two things on that.
1) We had to order the bracelets back in January so they would be ready for late March. We based our order off of previous year's attendance plus a % increase. But we have never had such lights out weather and attendance.
2)While we certainly do have room to grow, we think its vital that we can offer as best as possible a great festival experience to guests and we want to make sure we grow incrementally to make sure that continues.

But do appreciate the feedback.

Oh you mean the actual BBQ restaurants/competition teams at a BBQ festival

Sponsor the festival if you want to advertise your State Farm agency or construction company. So ya, ya it is

That would be my one recommendation from the friends and family that stopped by our spot. The line to redeem their tickets for their bracelets was pretty long.

Other than that no complaints from us. Great event and hopefully the weather is just as great next year
