We all know it’s mostly a sea of crap out there in regard to chain restaurants. However, there are a few wellsprings of glory in this corporate food desert.

I submit: eggroll sampler at The Cheesecake Factory. A medley of 4 types with paired dippin sauces. Good stuff.

Also, jalapeño poppers at Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr. Always weirdly fresh. Goddamn delicious.

The erstwhile Chilito from Taco Bell. But that baby’s been deceased for like 20 years.

Arby's has a really good jalapeño popper, they put cream cheese in it.

I just mentioned this in another thread, but Miller's Ale House is expanding westward out of Florida (I think they have reached Mobile) and they are a very good value. They have a fish and chips or meatloaf with mashed potatoes and vegetables for $6.99 at lunch. The portions are very big for that price and the quality is good. The atmosphere is very good, with lot's of TVs and they usually have 30ish beers on tap, although not a spectacular list.

It's not a destination restaurant, but if you're looking for good bar food that won't break your bank, it's worth a try if you're in Florida.

I don't know what they use, probably carp, but it's not bad.
