Amongst actual New Orleanians, is there actually even a debate about this? It embodies the traditional king cake and it beats everybody on taste

LOL

I've never driven to the west bank for a king cake.

Not saying that I wouldn't.

Friend,

Uncle gets at least one for us each year, but what I like most about Hi-Do is their chocolate filled croissants. They are delicious. I find their king cakes a bit dry. The best king cake in my opinion, and it is not even close to the rest, is the donut king cake from the Tastee in Kenner. It is worth the drive out there.

Friend,
Although I respect your opinion immensely, one will only find me within the city limits of Kenna Brah if I am on my way to or from the airport.

Friend,

The next time you are using MSY be sure to have a meal at Kenner Seafood. From there it is a short walk to Tastee. Until you have critically tasted all of the Tastee Donuts in town you will not understand the level of superiority this location has over all the others. It is like the difference between Popeyes in New Orleans and Popeyes in Chicago, with Tastee Kenner being the former.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

Randazzo’s makes the best king cake.

They literally invented the modern king cake in the early 80’s.

Before that king cakes were like those garbage bread McKenzies ones that had no icing and shitty granulated sugar that all fell off when you took a bite.

I try to keep my mouth shut about them. I don’t want long lines in the place.

That fresh brioche and cream cheese is nectar of the gawds.

I've been murdering Queen Cakes (old school French style King cakes, I think) this year. Particularly from Maple Street Patisserie.

The best part if it does, if you ask them ahead of time you can get it year round.

The next best IMHO is O'Delice uptown. Its if hi-do and randazzo's had a merger. Very delicious, get there early enough and grab an almond croissant too.

It’s what I send clients. They love that shite.

They can’t get it in the river parishes.
