There are gems all around. Marrero isn't even an option.

No need to throw college inn under the bus.

hopefully you've tried the roast beef at Short Stop PoBoys on Transcontinental near Airline.

I also really like the dirty turkey poboy at Hickory Grill Cafe on Hickory in Harahan on Thursdays.

Rocky & Carlos should go on the Nat'l Registry of Historic Places, or hysteric places, on or the other.

Parkway is my personal favorite on many levels. The food, the location, the ambiance, even since it got touristy it is still great.

Shortstop on Trancontinental in Metry is pretty good, just stay way from the seafood poboys, stick with RB.

They have the best shrimp poboy IMO and fact I think I know where I'm going for lunch today.

To the OP, try R&Os in Bucktown if you haven't been already.

If you want a real treat try Boucherie. The 12 hour roast beef with pickled red onions and horesradish cream is a masterpiece IMO.

Holy Jesus that sounds good. I've never been there for lunch, only dinner.
