either ABGB or Pint house

ABGB has better food but Pinthouse has better beer.

AGBG has a better atmosphere but their beers and food are a average at best. Pinthouse has great iPas and really good pizza.

live oak brewing on your way out. not the best beers, but could give you somewhere to stop on your way to del valle

Is the Roosevelt room any good?

more upscale than a lot of places, yes it is good. tons of places in the area if you get a couple drinks in you and want to take a stroll. very safe.

eta stroll to searsucker and lonesome dove (get some wild game off the bar menu you coonass)

I had to deal with Tim Love again the other day and he is such a twat. I understand that has little to do with the food but I could never patronize that guy's restaurants, just on principle. He's a narcissist and treats people like crap.

Anything in particular to get at either place?

Uchiko, don't bother with getting sushi. Get the small plates. Also, if they have the brussel sprouts, get at least one order of them. They are awesome.

That's a good idea. Live Oak's Hefeweizen is one of the best hefs I've ever had. Live Oak Gold is also very good. If you go there, just hope there isn't an east wind, because they made a unfortunate decision of building that brewery not too far from a sewage treatment plant, and you will smell it if the wind is not in your favor.

A good client of mine recommended uchiko. Her husband is a respected chef/restaurant guy and said they always go to Uchiko. Point is, her husband said the same thing... small plates there are wonderful.

Also... definitely don’t want to go to a place with an a-hole for an owner...

I would go to Pinthouse for the Electric Jellyfish alone, the pizza isn’t bad either, the only downside is that it’s usually packed. Also had the Bearded Seal on nitro last time I was there and it was really good as well.

Don’t waste your time going to 4th Tap, I was there last night and there aren’t any great rotators right now.

I'm sure just a brain fart. Kreuz is in Lockhart. Salt Lick is another bbq joint in Driftwood.

if you like the TV show Supernatural, Jensen Ackles owns a brew pub west of town. Filming is done for the year, and the rumor is that he will be tending bar on a regular basis.
