Gonna be there on Sun-Tues night then headed to Fredericksburg for some wine and whiskey sippin.
Tues night we are watching Dave Matthews at Austin360 and it’s kind of out of the way I think so I need something for Sunday and Monday night. At least one nice place to try, if not 2.
I will hit at least one bbq joint for lunch, but I may do that coming into town on Sunday. I’d love to hit franklins, but I’m not sitting in line for 3-4hrs. May hit LA BBQ? Blacks? Could always take a slight detour and hit the original blacks for lunch on Sunday driving in.

Also... some good bar food as well.

Okay, so I have Uchiko and Odd Duck for dinner Sunday and Monday. Anything in particular to get at either place? May do a tasting at one of them...
Prolly hit LA BBQ and a few happy hours or early drinks before dinner. Oh and either ABGB or Pint house as well for pizza and a brewery.

Is the Roosevelt room any good? Mrs Fest wants some good cocktails and she found it.

Valentina's is the best BBQ in Austin.

If you can't make it down south, LA BBQ.

Have fun

This is an outlier for sure, but I like House Park BBQ at N. Lamar & 12th street. Oldest continuously operating pit in Austin city limits.

Was already eyeing that after the Dave concert....

Is it walkable in that area. I’ll be about a block or so away

Check out Odd Duck. One of my favorite restaurants.

Also, Kemuri Tatsu-ya. It is a Japanese izakaya from the Ramen Tatsu-ya people.

La Condesa's venison tacos are worth the trip.

Valentina's or Terry Black's (Barton Springs Rd) if you want excellent bbq without having to wait more than 30 min. Valentina's is better but Black's sides are better. The Terry Black's in Austin had better food than the original IMO. If you go to lockhart, I'd hit up Smitty's instead. LA BBQ is awesome but there can be a decent wait sometimes. I haven't been there in a few years, but it was probably close to 1.5 hours then.

As far as nice places:

Uchi
Barley Swine
Jacoby's
South Congress Cafe

Good bar food? Go to Easy Tiger.

If you do LABBQ, they are notorious for being slow.

Protip: Do the pre-order and skip the line.

Roosevelt room is awesome for high end cocktails. You should definitely go. Make a reservation. There are many other high end cocktail places as well, depending on where in the city.

I absolutely love this place. Smoked fish collar is one of the best dishes I have ever had. Short ribs are delicious as well.

ABGB was good. I also really liked 4th Tap (North Austin) and Zilker (East 6th).
