Three hours in an outside setting? No.
But I could see going with a group of people where each person takes a 30 minute shift while everyone else has a beer/cocktail in a nearby bar, then maybe.
Anyone know if the line at Franklin permits this?

when I went to franklin's (it has been years) they took drink orders from people in line. Not to be a full hipster but this was when the line was only about 45 to an hour.
Killen's gives out free lone star some days but no need to go all the way out there with the pit room right down the road.

Truth, but you need to stop telling people about this place. They get enough business now to make money. We don't need that trashy Pearland situation up here.

they aren't candy arse and close for lunch so that will always limit the crowd.
Secondly, I don't think people will ever truly believe that a BBQ in Montrose is worthy of hype.
I will stop talking anyway.

depends on your budget and what you are looking for.
if you are young, single and looking for a 1bed apartment. Check out Jackson hill apartments.
Right on buffalo bayou park and waugh. Great pool. I almost lived there but the move in dates didn't work out.

Have been eyeing up a few places nearby on Studemont.
That area is good in general? I realize the prices are really high, but I think I want to rent in that area for 6-12 months and see how it is and possibly explore buying something after that.

Was a must visit last time I went to Houston. I was extremely underwhelmed. Maybe it was just a bad day for them.

Hard to go wrong with lower/upper heights, Montrose or anything right above allen pkwy IMHO

Yeah I'd be above 10 if I was going to be studemont.
Generally speaking you will be fine. It's a big city so there will always be crime but it's generally a good neighborhood.
If you lean older, you won't be wanting to go out on Washington.

it's the only open pit bbq place left in Houston. (it was grandfathered in due to a law against them)

Absolutely not, and I wouldn't wait at Franklin's either. If a restaurant cannot handle its business with either reservations or enough staff/food, I'm not going to reward them.
Don't forget that Franklin has the closest thing to reservations in that BBQ world, though. You can order ahead of time and skip the line in a couple of weeks.
