This stuff is great. There is a version that has slivers of fried garlic along with the chilis, worth a shot if you haven't tried it. Can't post a pic, it should have "Crunchy Garlic" written somewhere on the label.

I've heard similar good things about the Momofoku stuff but it seems incredibly over-priced and you have to order it. $30 for three pack of 150 gram jars. I can buy the Lao Gan Ma stuff in a 700 gram jar for less than $10. Is the Momofoku stuff worth it?

I've never had any of the others to compare it to, but the Momofoku stuff is definitely legit.

It's funny, I just heard about this stuff the other day watching an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Guy was talking about chili crunch and how addictive the stuff is. Just to show you how scary our AI overlords are - the next day I'm scrolling through FB and I get like 10 ads for Momofoku's chili crunch, which I had never seen before. But the targeted ads worked b/c I immediately bought the 3 jar pack. I'll look for the other stuff next time I'm in the Asian grocer though.

Sushi Yama has a Samurai Roll with a chili crisp thing on it which is fantastic. Wonder if it’s the same.

I’ve been wanting to try this. Went to my regular Asian grocery store and they were out and said they were have in trouble getting it. Went to another and they had the Lao Gan Ma brand but it says fried chili in oil not chili crisp. Is this the same stuff.

The jar should say Spicy Chili Crisp. They make a few other products, but that’s the one you want

I bought a jar a few months back based on this thread.

I can verify, it's legit.
