Grilled Tilapia or grilled catfish. What's your choice?

My neices are in town and they want me to cook some grilled fish 'cause they know Uncle Root can cook. I like grilled catfish better than the tilapia and I'm fixing to thaw some catfish out. I can deplete my freezer of the big cats or I can go to Wal-Mart and buy some tilapia. They don't care which fish is used. What say the food and drink board?

I have never been impressed with tilapia. I don't know if I just had poor tilapia or if its all like that.

Open a recipe book. Go to a real fish market and buy a real fish to grill.

I prefer grilled catfish if done right. Catfish tends to have more fat in it, while tilapia seems to get dried out on the grill.

I don't really like either. Ever get a really fatty piece of catfish and it can turn you off from it forever

I agree with TigerSpy. For the same price as tilapia, you could probably get mahi mahi.

Their is a reason Tilapia is 2 for 1 at Winn Dixie every week. It is pretty bad. Go with the catfish if you don't go to a fish market.

Tilapia. Catfish tastes like mud if the fillets are too big.
