fit the thread. I live here so I know most spots. But sometimes I get stuck trying to think of a place to go eat. I know the new spots like Ki and what have you. Honestly just looking for suggestions.

Noble is the tits.

I can't really think of many restaurants that aren't usually pretty busy in Shreveport though. Granted I haven't lived there in like 5 years.

In Shreveport? I’m sure they serve something called food, but it ain’t up to the standards of South Louisiana towns or some place like Houston.

How We Roll just started, so maybe they just need more time. I was a regular when they were Kamado's. I frequented their AYCE and loved their hot & sour soup. Do they still do the AYCE?

I have never once had any desire to go to Don Jose. I just cannot imagine a restaurant in that space being of quality except in a "trashy good" kinda way like the old Chinese place was.

I'm struggling to understand the concept. How does a restaurant "deserve" more or less business than what comes through the door.

If food and service is that good, there is some reason. Poor location, poor marketing, not enough parking, etc.

I think what he is saying is that these restaurants have great food, service, and atmosphere for what they're trying to do, but he would like to see them get better business. These businesses likely are lacking in marketing and/or location. I know This is How We Roll has an awful location and I've just started seeing their marketing on facebook.

Don Jose has very little marketing, but has a very good location which I drive past often, but I have never once had any desire to go inside. It could be that the restaurant's image on the outside doesn't look very inviting or delicious.

I just looked at Don Jose's pics on google and it just lokks like a typical cheap mexican place. on par with las palmas, el chico, types.

Duang Tawans used to be a place that deserve more but i think people know about it now.

I hear you. I hope I didn’t come across as contentious. Just entering into the discussion.

Some of these places are owned by Babu Bhatt and just need little help.

That's what I took it to mean. I can't really think of any current restaurants that fit the bill.

About 20 years ago this guy came in and invested all kinds of money in a strip mall in Destrehan. Opened a nice wine shop with all kinds of frozen/prepaired foods and then opened up a very nice restaurant next door. I think they brought in a great chef from Lafayette. It closed in less than two years.

There was a Nola guy who opened a damn good place in Kenner on Williams maybe 10 years ago named Pelicano. Very good food and wine list, but I think the poor location did him in.

According to some here, places like Christina’s, Dearman’s, and Fleur de Lis offer the best food in town. Nostalgia is a bitch.
