The few people on my Social Media feed that I would expect to be there have already posted from there and they look like the usual douchebags that they always are. Makes me not even want to try to go to dinner there.

Can anyone, that's truly been there in the last two weeks or so (so that the opinion is after some time for the place to work out bugs), give an honest opinion of the place and or food/drinks (primarily)? All I know is that friends of friends that are moving shaker douche bags have been.

I wrote a long thing in the other thread about it.

The aforementioned grilled cheese & tomato soup… I wonder if they recycled those spoons from Great Wall?
They are serving it exactly the same way as the inspiration dish, which was made popular at Beauty & Essex (NYC, Vegas).

I’m going in a month for a birthday dinner and I’ll be reporting back after.

We went last night, as to the movers and shakers the only one I recognized was our esteemed police chief.
I found the atmosphere to be uncomfortable and loud which is what I expected and I understand others may enjoy that type of scene. Most of the food was prepared decent but was very underwhelming visually. The cocktail list was short and they were out of a few bourbons we requested.
I was most disappointed in the service, our waiter brought out the wrong drinks/wine a couple of times and was trying to top off wine glasses with incorrect wines. Very basic stuff that should not happen at this price point.
I will note, none of us got steaks and I am sure they probably executed those well but I am just not a steak house guy.

So much for original concepts

Do you really expect a Baton Rouge restaurant that shares a parking lot with a post office to be a culinary innovator?
Maybe just take it for what it is and enjoy instead of comparing to something else that is obviously in another class.

Because of the parking lot, the chefs are bad? Bro….

For that price point? Yes

If that's the case, then why are the prices similar?

Where did I say the chefs were bad? You need to work on your reading comprehension

People actually spent $700 there, for BR that’s impressive.

I’m sure the food is pretty good, but I have a very hard time believing anywhere in BR is putting out $700 per couple quality food.

Go find the original thread. That was what one poster said he and his wife paid for dinner there.

I understand. You said you find it hard to believe $700 food is being put out.
Just because it costs $700 doesn't mean it's worth $700. I believe there are people there paying that much, I don't believe for a second it's worth that.

Both couples stated they spent that much but both over ordered and both got the wagyu.
If you eat like a normal person,it's about the same price as Ruth's

I hear you. But I’m just saying if I spend $700 on dinner and don’t walk away blown away I’m going to be pissed.

A normal meal for me and my wife at Ruth’s is usually under $250
That’s a lot of over ordering
