I'll be staying on Michigan and need some places for dinner and breakfast. Cost isn't an issue.

Get some "cowboy shooters" from Ditka's off Michigan. Chesapeake Oyster, tabasco and vinaigrette in a shot glass. My mouth is watering right now.

Gibson's, in my hood, is supposedly good.

Chicago Cut right downtown gets high marks.

Really, there's a shite ton of steakhouses... but I haven't done many of them.

Novelty/fun fare:

Hot Doug's... awesome dogs/sausages.
Gino's East for deep dish (less touristy than Giordano's and better... still trying to find a better "local" spot).
Lucky Sandwiches up near Wrigley are stuffed sandwiches, comes with the fries and coleslaw on it.. awesome.

Quality meal:

Hopleaf up in Andersonville (ways away, but you can cab there from downtown in 15 mins.). Amazing beer selections.

Avec* - one of my favorite places in the city. No reservations, communal dining spot, but great food.

Girl and the Goat* gets rave reviews, but you may not be able to get in, it's always booked.

Purple Pig* is really solid right down off Michigan.

* These are all small plate type of restaurants.

Alinea is super high end/expensive. I've never been, but it's regarded as one of the best restaurants in the World.

Topo Gigio is the best Italian I've had in the city.

Ummm, I'm sure I have plenty more... could do this all day.... let me know if you are looking for something specific.

Only late at night, once drunk.

Otherwise, it's just a run of the mill hot dog stand.

I was there 2 weeks ago and friends of ours took us to the original Morton's It was really cool experience. Very traditional, and great eats.

I've eaten at Alinea. It's reputation is warranted.

Achatz also has Next, but good luck getting in.

For steak Chicago Chop House and David Burke's Primehouse are good. Gibson's is probably good too, but I've never been there. Don't waste your money at Gene & Georgetti's.

Wouldn't go to purp pig by myself, and knowing that ur a bit of a loser and will be by yourself, you should hire some friends while in Chicago. Good luck bro

That place was legit, I'm heading back up there in oct., lemme know what u hit up.
