might be kind of cheesy, but I like the hell out of Morton's steak houses and the original is in Chicago....I'd find it and eat there before I left the city...

If you want to spend out the wazoo and have a great meal David Burke's Prime is the way to go.

I would avoid Gene & Georgetti - that was my one misfire meal up there.
David Burke's Primehouse gets a lot of enthusiasm.

Weber, no. Gibson's is OK. G&G is fine, too.
I really enjoyed the Chophouse...
all of these are biased on personal taste, so I would say, just look around and choose one.
Just not fricking Ruth's or Sullivan's for frick's sake!

Headed to Chicago on Saturday.
Any other legit recommendations on "non-steak" places in the downtown and Wrigleyville areas?

Hary Carey's is good.
Ditka used to have a good place, but I dont know if it is still open.

I ate at Rosebud on Friday and it was great. Italian place. Of the entres on the table, the raost chicken was the favorite. I had a veal chop. The "sunday salad" is also very good. Italian chopped salad served with meatballs and sausage.

I had a mean cowboy ribeye at Ditka's. Decent atmosphere with a nice bar if you're looking to drink too. It's not cheap though.
