Dont chunk that vermouth, use it in a negroni or Manhattan.

frick all of y'all. If vodka is good enough for 007's martini, it's good enough for mine.

Like LL said, swish dry vermouth around in frozen martini glass then toss out.

The secret to a good martini is to shake the shite out of the vodka/gin and then strain into frozen glass. If you don't have ice crystals in the liquor, then you ain't doing it right.

3 shots of vodka, I let the vodka see the vermouth but don't actually use it, then a couple splashes of olive brine. Shake over ice, pour through strainer, garnish with a large olive or two.

As already mentioned, you're using the wrong vermouth and if you use vodka, you're using the wrong spirit. I personally prefer Lillet Blanc to dry vermouth because of its citrus qualities. Start chilling a martini glass with ice & water or stick it in the freezer. Next build the drink by pouring 2oz Beefeater 24 over ice in a large glass. Stir to chill & let it sit. Dump the ice water from the cocktail glass & add about a teaspoon of Lillet Blanc, swirl & dump. Strain the gin into the cocktail glass & garnish by expressing a lemon zest over the drink & rubbing the lemon zest on the rim of the glass. Best damn Martini you'll ever drink.

Vodka/gin in a cocktail shaker of crushed ice. Shake. Pour into chilled martini glass which can be washed with vermouth if you're into that shite. Garnish with an olive. Or don't.

Oh you said dirty. Follow above recipe but dump a bunch of olive juice in and stir once before pouring into class.

Personally, I used to drink dirty. Now though that crisp, cold liquor tastes like drinking the flow from a heart of ice.

A real martini is about 5 to 1 gin to dry vermouth. Across the great pond Beef-eaters is the go to gin. If want dirty use olive juice from the same jar as the olives. One or two teaspoons as a starting guide. As others have said always stir, don't shake.

Another little tip, store the unused vermouth in the refrigerator. It is a type of wine and will go bad at room temp. in a short period of time.

So you're not actually drinking a martini, you're just drinking chilled straight vodka or gin.

I don't understand some of you people.

Store your vodka in the deep freeze. Don't dilute using ice.

Add pinch dry vermouth, and teaspoon olive brine.
