I believe the case was sold by Mockler at 115, making each beer 9.50ish at cost to the retailer. I paid 11.99 so that isn't that terrible but it doesn't help that 3 people need to make money on each bottle.

I am really excited that they have made such a great beer. I agree with a post earlier that says, while it might not be the best DIPA, the fact that it is being talked about with the likes of the greats is pretty damn awesome.

I've not had time to stop by the brewery but I might need to head back out there after work one day this week. I was going to pick up 4-5 bottles in town but I don't know if I can wait a few more days.

That's correct. So the retailers selling it for $13.99 are making $4.50/bottle. And that's just on the retail side.

Even if you go straight to Parish, they are selling it at the same price as retailers. Unlike the crawfish argument in the other thread, I have no qualms with Parish making a shitton of money on this. They put in the hard work and create a unique product Louisiana has not seen. Good for them. Coupled with the fact that bombers everywhere sell for 12.99, it's seen as a fair price.

I'd love to be able to go to the brewery and give them my $12 so they get more money in their pocket. If I was in Lafayette, that's what I'd do for sure.

Why? Why is it ok for Parish to charge a shitton but not a crawfish farmer?

Cans...

Love them.

Absolutely Love damn near any style of beer out of a 12 or 16 oz can besides maybe something belgian or corked bottle.

Completely disagree with the 12 oz glass bottle.

Me too. I would rather buy it in a 4-pack.

Now this is something I can agree on. 4-pack bottles would be preferable for sure. 4-pack pint cans even better.

Gotta be honest, paying $13 for an IPA would be a serious turn off for me.
It is. I'd be ok if $12 was the high end, but it's the low.

Listen here guys. You know my opinion on ghost. I've had it aside by side with abrasive, dj, and heady. I talked about it in fbd thread. My opinion is like everyone else's. A unique opinion. There is no right or wrong one.
Anyway here is my announcement.
I'm going to the brewery tonight or tomorrow to pick up bottles for others. I will be in BR Friday and Nola for mardi gras. I can also ship out of state as many already know. If you'd like some, place orders here. If you know someone who would some, tell them to post orders here.
End of announcement
