Just moved out to Dutchtown, looking for some good recs if y'all have em! We ate at John Michael's Good Eats last night and found it to be alright. Had a wrap that was excellent, but everything else was so-so.

John Michaels was trash when we tried it, I'm not sure how they're still open.
My wife and I used to go to Sno's every weekend and actually still prefer it over Mike Andersons, but they are both worth a visit. if you want some finer dining, check out Houma's House.

If you like Greek, Kamals is really good. Corner of 74 and Airline

You arent terribly far from Robertos...lunch or dinner

I like Big Slice pizza

Dutchtown Coffee Bar is good too

John Michael's food is good, but service is shitty. Similar experience both times we went
Griffin Cafe has good burgers
Sno's is way overrated in my mind
Mi Padres is pretty decent
Big City Slice is pretty good, big pizzas
Mission Street Cafe in the Chevron gas station ain't bad
DQ's steak fingers are always great
Mexican food truck in the shanty village next to DQ is pretty good (cash only)
Porch Light is good
Frank's is pretty good
Hannah Q's has great brisket quesadillas

I don’t get the Franks live either. Have been a couple of times for breakfast and lunch and it was terrible. I’ll echo Kamal'sbeing good, and John Michael’s average on a good day. Mi Padres is good Mexican, their bean dip is pretty good.

They are always OUT of something it is embarrassing. I left the other day because the first two things I tried to order they told me they were currently out

Best boiled crawfish outside of Pierre Part.

I find Rio Verde ( next to elegant affairs) to be one of the superior mexican restaurants in Gonzales. Tied with Don Beto.

Griffen Cafe has some incredible food for lunch but for burgers in the area I always go for Griffen Grill

they offer a wide variety of options to choose from, but i find the menu too large and most items are average at best.

that said, they make a great pasta salad (you can add protein), and surprisingly their lasagna is really good.

this isn't saying much. the mis padres in dutchtown is much worse than the mis padres on airline in prairieville.

i guess it must be different owners?

when they used to do steak night on thursdays (they may still do it but had stopped during covid), the ribeye and potato was pretty good. it had a good flavor. no it isn't prime but i don't expect that from here. it was good enough that i went back several times.
