Tried using the search function, but didn’t really come up with anything. Heading over after Christmas, and was looking for good places to chow down at.

Farley Girls is my favorite casual spot. Popular at brunch time.
ShyKatZ
Mosquito Cafe
The Sunflower Bakery and Cafe

Rudy and Paco’s is their popular high end place. Never been, but the people I’ve met there all loved it.

Bronco Burrito for your breakfast burrito fix. Get green sauce with it.

Brews Brothers is a craft beer bar, but their food is actually pretty legit.

I’m sure they have lots of new stuff since I used to spend time there.

Mi Abuelitas is bomb authentic Mexican, especially breakfast. But there’s a very large number of authentic spots in the city so you can reference Yelp for one convenient.

The Brick House is decent. It’s a bit more corporate-y but the food is fairly solid. It served well as a “home base” being close to the apartment and on the sea wall. They have a decent beer selection. Not on Brews Brothers level but still good.

Beerfoot is a very solid craft beer spot too.

The Spot has decent burgers and is a good tourist restaurant.

Farley girls like LL mentioned is a good choice too

Stuttgarden is a cool 3 story or 4 story building on the strand that has good food and alot of beer choices as well

LL definitely has you covered. Count me as someone who loves Rudy and Pacos. And I'd add Gypsy Joint for a lesser known spot with really good food and a cool vibe. It's near the strand, close to 25th.

Cafe Michael Burger is a solid burger joint on the far west end.

I thought Galveston had to shut back down this week due to hospital capacity, but maybe just back down to 50%.

For lunch, grab a muffuletta at Maceo’s Spice Market. The best pizzas and fettuccine alfredo on the island can be had at Mario’s on 61st Street. The Sunday brunch at Hotel Galvez is great if it hasn’t been shutdown by the rona. Rudy and Paco is excellent and 13 at Pelican Rest Marina serves great steaks on the water. Vintage Crown Michelada Bar just off the strand is not to be missed if you enjoy amazing micheladas.

I’ve had some good Italian at Mama Teresa's Flying Pizza.

Henry’s >> Bronco Burrito

Rudy and Paco’s is great. The Original is a Galveston staple. Taquilo’s has the fire pork skins

Go to Queen’s BBQ for the smoked turkey cliffhanger. Be sure to get it on a cheddar jalapeño bun and add bacon

The Spot has decent wings and burgers.

There's a place called Tortugas (I think that's the name of it) on Seawall Blvd not far from the Hilton. It had decent tacos.

Thanks everyone. When I worked offshore my boat docked in Galveston. That’s been almost 10yrs ago though.

Is Pennies Tex Mex still around? Loved their tamales!! That’s about the only place I can remember the name of.

What?? No Black Pearl recommendation yet? I’ll recommend it. Great lunch spot. Also, Rudy and Paccos is great and so is 13. Both pricey.

Ah well that blows. I haven’t been back in Galveston in probably 5 years.
