Thanks for posting the video! It's interesting that they buy their shucked oysters from Drago's.

Yes! One of my favorite places in New Orleans, but I love the old school grande dame restaurants. Galatoire's, to me, has held up better than any of the others.
It's not just about the food. It's about the atmosphere as well. It's festive and fun.

Been vaxxed, but won't do business with a company that demands to see it. Guess I'll be eating at home, food is better and no spit in it. The kitchens in these places are disgusting. If patrons had to walk thru to get to their seats they wouldn't eat in any restaurant.

Awesome video! Before moving to H-town 20+ years ago, I ate at Galatoire's all the time. Such an awesome restaurant and the food is insanely delicious.
Dined there again a few years back and the food was still outstanding. The fish is to die for. Their sauces are crazy good.
I will definitely be back after watching this video. Definitely explains why their quality remains off the charts!

Any respectable decently high end kitchen is going to be many times more sanitary than an average home kitchen.
Many of these places are happy to let you walk into them. Hell, a place like Commander's Palace does it as a matter of course in moving people through their restaurant. Not to mention all the open kitchen type places.
Some things may look messy and chaotic if you've not spent time in a restaurant kitchen, but that doesn't necessarily equate to "disgusting."
That's not to say there aren't "disgusting" restaurant kitchens around. I just submit it's wrong to think it's the norm for any even marginally respectable type places.

I delivered to Galatoires, I can say it's one of the cleanest Kitchens I've been in and I've been in at least 150-200 of them.
