My wife is doing a program and one of the things she can eat is shrimp. I went to fresh market and they want $15/lb for Indonesian shrimp. No thank you. I don’t need a lot but maybe 10-15 lbs. Where is the best place for this? Thanks.

The Rouse's locations in Lafayette and Youngsville almost always have fresh Gulf shrimp.

Also, Chez Francois and places like that but Rouses is more convenient since you're not looking for a whole lot.

Heading to Delcambre is a nice option, but be prepared to stand in line for a while at the boat. It is an experience though; coonasses go crazy for some shrimp.

I buy seafood (mainly shrimp) several times per month either in Delcambre at Bridgeside Seafood or from Grangers in Maurice. Both are reputable and have Facebook pages with daily updates. Bridgeside is the small yellow bldg next to the bridge. Call this number below and she updates hourly what seafood she has available and prices. I also buy my soft-shell crabs there. $3 - $4 each for LG to XL 1-337-685-5607 - 501 E Highway 14 Delcambre, LA 70528

If you go to the docks, this is what it will look like.

Granger's FB page
they have fresh shrimp from their boat and frozen if needed

There's usually a guy on the corner of Hwy 90 and Fieldspan in the Menard's parking lot.

They have shrimp from Delcambre at the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings at the old horse farm.

Google Delcambre Direct Seafood, the website lets boats post when they will be in port selling their catch. It has contact info so you can get price and count before heading down.
