I love it, but I read where about 40% of people taste it as soapy.

red beans and rice. I think this is due to the fact that every day at school from 1st through 9th grade, the schools I went to served it for lunch every monday. I can't hardly stand to even look at it.

Growing up, I HATED both red beans and rice and etouffee. Only somewhat liked gumbo and jambalaya. Gumbo was probably the one I could tolerate the most.

Now I love all 4. My etouffee made with leftover boiled crawfish is one of the best things I've ever made. Funny how our tastes change..

I was clicking on this thread to also post oysters. I fail to see the big deal. My wife always orders it as an appetizer everywhere it's available and I've tried it every which way but I just don't get it.

I gotta find me some good etouffee here in Jackson. I ate at Parrain's on sunday and had the seafood stuffed french toast. It was so damn good. You gotta try it.

I don't like raw oysters but the chargrilled ones are amazing.

I forgot about this one. Add Twizlers to that list as well. To me, they're basically a candle without the wick.

that's just not a "food that most people like, but you don't". I can't think of any time in my life that i've seen someone buy or go to town on black liccorice. nasty stuff.

I go back a few years and the black licorice was all over the place in candy shops, etc. We had different names for those black ones shaped like babies. Bill Cosby even had them in a routine where he was a kid and went to a scary movie, he would hide on the floor and wake up with a dozen black JuJubies on his back...lol. You're right, maybe they aren't liked all that much. I remember my Mother loving em though.

Add any diet beers (Lite, Coors light, BL, etc)

Not sure. I only dittoed black licorice because someone else mentioned it. Twizzlers on the other hand is definitely on my list because I see people buying this stuff all the time.

The majority of this thread isn't. I was looking forward to a bunch of "How do you not like that?!" reactions, but I'm not particularly shocked that people in here don't like freaking beets and mushrooms. Half the darn population is picky about that -- it isn't shocking.

Evil cilantro.

Evil pickles.

Either one will ruin anything they touch.

Red beans and rice: I haven't tried it since grade school. Just the name of the dish elicits revulsion.
