We picked next Friday to provide food for a family that needs a little help right now. Im pretty sure they dont eat meat on Fridays so any idea of what we could provide? I was thinking of a shrimp pasta dish or maybe a few catfish dinners from a local church. The kids range in age from 9-16 and I just know my kids are very picky with seafood.

A big batch of shrimp pasta would be easy to make and reheat. Fried fish is not so good for reheating.

Can you ask the family what they enjoy eating?

Mediterainian Shrimp Couscous with feta, olives, and peppers

I would recommend making a quick 30 min shrimp stock from the shells for great flavor. And it's very easy to reheat in a skillet for a minute or two.

I'm not sure I would take it to this level for a family with kids that I don't know. Could be picky eaters, etc.

Just check to make sure no one in the family has a shellfish allergy.

A family of 5 that includes mom, dad and 3 kids can get well fed on 4 lbs. of fried shrimp, fries, cole slaw or potato salad and some type bread-----hush puppies, King's Hawaiian Rolls, Texas Toast, etc.

Thanks everyone! I didnt even think of a possible shellfish allergy. We may have to ask the family even though I think this was intended to be a surprise.

Maybe a big ole bowl of fettucine alfredo with a container of blackened shrimp on the side.

I vote for fried fish and shrimp, but with white beans and rice, a side salad, and cornbread or hush puppies.

If someone can’t have shrimp, they can still enjoy the fish and other stuff.
