Had it for lunch twice this week. Awesome burger. Great Cajun fries! Cant wait till it opens in BR. Haven't been by either location lately. What is the status?

The most overpriced burger out there IMO. Never had a good experience there either. If I can't order my burger cooked like I want it, I'll pass

Is 5 dollars for a cheeseburger overpriced? I pay 12 at Masons.

They are seven bucks w/out fries here in Tuscaloosa. They shut the one down right next to me. Maybe it's just here but I think they suck. Jmo

There are certainly wide variances between many of the franchises. I've had really good burgers, and overcooked and non-seasoned burgers at different five guys. And I'm a burger aficionado.

I would compare it to Cheeburger Cheeburger. Pretty good burger for $7.

They're $5 every where else, and Ive eaten at 5 guys all over the country.

Maybe Tuscaloosa just sucks?

(that was rhetorical)

This is a significant business challenge for them. The original handful of stores run by the founders are still consistently excellent.

Which of course doesn't help anyone in Tuscaloosa. Not that anything could. :rimshot:

Nothing special...beef with no spices that is fried and fries that freshly cut. It is OK.

i waffle back and forth between these two places...tried for the longest to figure out which one was "better". Ive had good burgers at both and mediocre burgers at both. Just depends on whos cooking your burger. If only five guys could figure out how to keep my "all the way" from getting a soggy bun....

It's an okay burger, but doesn't deserve nearly all the hype. I can see it goig the way of krispy kreme (lots of hype, open too many stores too quickly, fade away).

I really like the place.

It's def not 7 i was there 2 weeks ago. 5 something for a double. And the other one shut down cus they put it in the ghetto.

I dont see why anyone complains ab the price. Once you get the same amount of food at wendys or mcdonalds you are paying the same price for shitty food.

I have been to cheeburger cheeburger and it is a diff place. Five guys you dont have to wait on the waitress. Order the same thing from both places and cheeburger cheeburger is always more expensive and takes a lot longer. They do have good shakes though.
