Will be in New Orleans tonight and looking for an upscale dining establishment with a great wine list and perhaps nice scenery as well. Any recommendations?

Call and see if you can get Coquette at the bar. They are doing reservations now.

If not La Petite is always a good spot. AVO is far uptown and away from anything tonight.

Realize a parade is going on downtown (FQ, Warehouse, Marigny/Bywater), so that area will be a cluster, but KDV is a fun parade to watch.

If you want to do Warehouse District I would say Seaworthy or Cellar Door

Well frick me. That was always a great place when something was going on Downtown because it was just hidden enough.

I have to admit, even though I have been to NO many times for Sugar Bowls and have tasted the gamut from takiouti (sp) to the usual's.

When I went there on business, and was alone, you can't beat a BBQ shrimp meal at Mr.B's at the bar.

Almost always have a better experience at any bar eating alone on weeknights.

Did that about this time last year when I was there on business and tried several in the warehouse district. Tommy’s was my favorite. Good wine selection and knowledgeable friendly waiters. Great food. Not too loud or too quiet.

Another time I ate at the cooks bar at NOLA. That was good. Always have lunch at Mothers. Dragos is really good too. A lot depends on where you are coming from and what you want. New Orleans and Louisiana is by far the best food in average everywhere than 98% of most states.

Starting off at Doris. Near my hotel. Apparently there is a parade happening which someone alluded to earlier. All the bars are full.
