Everything the docs are saying right now sounds generally positive. Sounds like this is going to be an every 5 year kind of thing, but with that and the proper meds he should be fine. Thank God for medicine! My next beer is for our doctors here and the good work they do.

LBD is that Deep Ellum brew I got in a trade a couple of weeks ago. You are right--it is OK, but nothing special.

LBD is some Reve coffee stout. Great coffee beer. Idk where to rank it, but I'd drink again. Another thanks to SteakBomb. Shared with KennyP and the wives. All really enjoyed.

I had two stents placed. If they place a stent, then they are saying that they don't need to do a bypass, right? Although doing any work at all is not good news, a stent is pretty minor compared to what they could be doing. The other thing is that they are scoping everything out and should know exactly whats going on, and the stents should take care of the blockages that he has.

How is his heart function? Is he able to do everything he wants to do?

I think it was Bmoney or someone that posted an in-depth, rather scientific breakdown of the amount of coffee in a coffee beer and caffeine content. The conclusion was it was negligible.

He had a heart attack and six bypasses almost 10 years ago. He experienced some issues Thursday and Friday, so they brought him on Saturday. No bypasses were necessary, which is very good. Tomorrow we will know decisively how they will proceed, but from what it sounds like the stents and medication (with regular monitoring and also...I don't know the term, "re-doing" of the stents?) will treat the arrhythmia that was bringing him down, nothing like a pacemaker required. It's assumed that there will be some lifestyle concessions as well -- dietary and such. I think the only thing we are worried about, really, is how it might impact his physical ability/stamina. He's a farmer. He works from can see to can't, and it's hard work. He recovered from his heart attack very well and was able to do everything without diminished ability, so it seems prudent to assume he would be able to continue to do so. But he's also not getting younger. Right now it all sounds positive, though.

I'm totally biased, but my dad is amazing. He made a career for himself in a challenging field. He was not given anything. He earned it. He is a good man, he's kind, he pays into his community and the state as a whole (very active in agriculture politics), and he doesn't offend anyone. How he produced a shithead like me I'll never know.

I'm a little proud of my dad. I'm not ashamed to say it. 4miles has met him a few times and will vouch for him.
