Well, maybe a FBd krewe sponsored education series of posts. Maybe someone needs to start a FBD blog we can go to for the latest and greates.

Many of the guys know so much more than I do--especially some of the guys that brew. I just know what I like. Lots of good info in these threads though, which is what it is all about.

Eventually I'll get Boo to give me some sort of grand beer tour in BR. Probably go to the Bulldog, Chimes, places that have more obscure beers than regular spots. I know he knows a lot and brews.. seems like a good mentor to me

Their Coffee Porter is fantastic on a cold day

That's what I was trying to remember. Thanks.

They make a Belgian Trippel called "Devil's backbone" which is good if you like that style

I'm more of a dubbel guy, then a quad. For the life of me, I can't get into tripples.

Kim it would be cool if you could post an occasional Beer education series of posts on here for folks who are sticking their toe in the water of new beer discovery.

I just learned from reading these threads. Y'all seem to know what you're talking about from what I've tried

Dang, any other Texas Brews I can find there? I want to load up on Jester King, get some Rodeo Karbach, and Gubna. What's another Real Ale must try?

Real Ale Coffee Porter is a must
Real Ale's IPA is good
Get a Real Ale sampler too if you haven't had any of them, they are all good
No Label is in Specs but I haven't tried them yet other than their Amber
Rahr & Sons has some solid offerings, particularly Bourbon Barrel Winter Warmer if you can find it
Southern Star has some good stuff I highly recommend. Le Mort is in cool bottles with great labels, and tis the season for buried hatchet. If you like Rodeo Clown, you'll like Pro-Am too

Yeah, I think anyone can learn a lot from the wise ones here. Just make a list up from what they try and/or recommend and go for it.

I did this with my brother. He swore he never would drink "my" kind of beer. I took his arse to Avenue Pub and let the education begin. It wasn't the owner, but the manager (can't remember her name for the life of me) took him all over the map beer wise. Found out he was a huge fan of sours and that is arse backwards. He also hate belgiums (tetu's long lost brother). Now he is drinking IPAs. A little more work and he might be into stouts.

I too was inspired by the old BEAUXREGARD posts...I always wondered why he abruptly stopped posting...

I figured that one of the FBD regulars on here was him posting under an alter.

I love pro-am and can't wait for it to be released year round. Might be one of the very few beers I buy on the regular

Nice. Someone asked me yesterday if I want to be a beer snob I want to enjoy what's out there, but if I want to get wasted, I'll be back to PBR, Bud Light, etc... beer pong with beer that's $10/6-pack isn't cheap enough.

I really want to pick up the Arrogant Bastard 6 pack that I keep seeing at wal mart, but it's $15.. They must REALLY love their own beer to charge that much
