Trying to finish work so I can get to FBD. Coater, have a friend that just matched in Jackson, where are some decent areas for residents, especially single females? (No pics)

Basically, have a friend graduating Med School and moving to Jackson for residency. Looking for somewhere decent to live, affordable, and close to the hospital if that exists.

Any idea on her budget?

Renting or buying?

Definitely renting, on a resident salary budget is probably 7-800/month.

Lots of safe apartments down Lakeland (flowood). I love belhaven area if you can find a townhouse or house for rent. Outside of that you can look in ridgeland for a house to rent or apartment. Believe it or not there are plenty of areas to find a decent spot to live if you're single.

S14 may have some input as well

You should be able to find places fairly easily in her budget. I'd start with Lakeland and belhaven
