5BD is a Canebrake (first time) at Basin Seafood. Dozen raw oysters coming up. Wrong month, but isn't the Oyster Festival coming up? Worth a shot. Ordering the stuffed flounder with it

ETA: really random, but I think the hostess is pregnant. That's a new sighting for me.

Oysters surprised me. 80% of them were larger than I anticipated, which I feel pretty good about. Larger than I anticipated with a saltier flavor as well (which I enjoy, personally). Canebrake is a really drinkable brew.

So the entree, stuffed flounder with crabmeat, roasted beets, local greens, grapefruit beurre blanc. I wonder about the quality of the crab, and unfortunately the crab (or perhaps krab) over powered the flavors of the flounder. That being said, every flounder I've had has been mild so I'm not an ideal judge and I feel like this is normative. That being said, the greens and beets were exquisite.

My service was a 6.5/10. I won't ascribe a final rating, but the experience was not unpleasant. Honestly, idk if I'd go again because I know there are equal or better experience CDs really close to me.

ETA: autocorrect And phones. Ugh. Good, enjoyable, but not great. But the service and apps surprised me

It's less than 3 dollars a beer, and it's at our little hidden place. You gotta pull the trigger.

LOL Wise I almost rented the house next to yours like 2 weeks ago. eta: Technically it was on the other side of the playground but whatever.

I also lied, F/OBD will be a Surly Overrated once it gets cold in 20 min. ETA: I didn't read far enough.

Did you sit at the bar? I'd chalk up the service to being newly opened, not sure about the food quality outside of the oysters, but even if it ends up being a "place you can get oysters and drink a beer but the food is meh" place I'm fricking fine with that, especially with a courtyard.

TBD is a MechaHop. Not feeling this. Think it's worse out the can. Way too bitter with no malt backbone. No citrus grapefruit. Just bitter.
