Yeah, for sure. NB isn't necessarily a favorite of mine, but it's a good sign if they are making roads into LA. Also, there's a pretty good chance I'll be moving back to LA in the near future, and if so I'll be available to bring some brews with me for people who are looking for things they can't get.

Figured. Will all this be from the new brewery?

Also, over/under on them and Abita teaming up. I say less than a year they release something together. I know they share a lot of the same processes.

Has abita collaborated with anybody? I mean, it had to be a slap in the face to them that stone did a collab with nola and not them.

I would not be excited in the least for a nb/abita collab.

Maybe Abita could learn something.

Had a friend ask about this possibility on a tour last year, one of the master brewers was the lead. Said nothing was in the works, but that the expansion of sales might spark some interest. Of course Abita is going to be looking at NB as competition now.

I dunno, I feel like Abita knows what they are -- basically a macrobrewery that produces a product with mass appeal. Now, I think that's kinda crappy because they are technically the state's flagship brewery and I'd like to see better from them, but it's not hurting their bottom line to do what they're doing. They'll keep doing it, continue to make buttloads of money, and unless they specifically reach out to other companies and get rejected they won't take offense to things like that.

You got it. They think, and their sales say that they're not doing anything wrong.

Plus, the majority of Louisiana sucks anyway in that they're still selling a butt load of Amber here.

For some reason, I don't think they care. They're making lots of money making crappy beer, and have no interest making good beer, much less making a good beer collaborating with an awesome brewery.

You gotta figure at some point they would like some street cred. They obviously have found a very profitable niche, but you would think they would like some professional accolades. Like when i went to parish, andrew was so proud that he had 2 beers make the final judgement at gabf.

The guys on the Brewing network mentioned to them that they made entry level types of beer and their brewmaster was like...? no we brew german style beers that work well with our hot climate and spicy food...............

St arnold wasn't much different than abita but they still sell tons of lawnmower and amber year round while also putting out great stuff like endeavour and DR series and Bishops barrel...

Brock knows where their bread is buttered but they still make some "street cred" offerings.

Looking really forward to Parish's new additions to Canebrake and GR this year. Them and NOLA are far and away the best brewers in the state.

I wouldn't say crappy...just uninspired and boring.
