I think this is a touch old, but I can still tell it was a solid beer in its prime

What you think about that one Jim ?
It's more roasted/smoky and I would prefer more of the barrel to be present, but it being so dangerously silky smooth, I can't complain. It's a really good beer.
Next couple will be some fresh IPA from the source.

FBD was a St. Arnold Elissa while picking up food because I live in Lake Charles and we have shitty choices for beer.
After I ordered I found out I was sitting next to a St. Arnolds rep at the bar. He was a nice guy and thanked me for ordering his beer. I played nice and told him I enjoyed their BB series as well as most of the DR series. I told him I really enjoyed Endeavor when it's fresh but that we generally have a hard time with that locally. He then told me with a straight face that it's a "world class beer" up to a year after the bottling date. I didn't want to be rude but it was hard. Luckily my food showed up right after that so I bailed.
Debating 2BD back home.
