I mean yeah there are a lot of expensive chains that are good.
For regular chains I personally think there is a Wide spread. I view somewhere like Texas Roadhouse as being a decent place vs. Applebee’s as being atrocious. But everyone will have their own opinion.

You’re right I should qualify and say I’m not really counting places like Ruth’s Chris or Morton’s, though they are chains. But I don’t consider J Alexanders to be an “expensive” chain - somewhere between a Chilis and a Morton’s.
