We just finished our basement and it has 15 feet of bar and cabinets. We're having people over for football Saturday to break it in and wanted to stick with the bar theme.

So far we've got
Cheese sticks
Wings
Fried pickles
Fries
Pulled pork sliders
A few dips people are bringing.
Chicken tenders for the kids

Any awesome bar foods I'm forgetting about?

Jalepeno Poppers for sure as well

I was trying to suggest something that you wouldn't have to fry with the Dip

I will have the big fryer out so frying more stuff is no problem.

Shrimp corn dogs are terrific.

I love fried olives, also, though I've never made them. Had some at Delmonico and they were so good. I believe they were stuffed with ground pork when I had them.

Bacon wrapped anything.

Mini meat pies.

Homemade spicy chex mix.

Roasted pecans.

Stale bowl of peanuts and a gallon jar of old pickled eggs. Keep it traditional.

Also, fried mushrooms. I can't go to George's without getting some. Oh, and potato skins. Those are good.

I did some potato skins for the last game. Not something I ever order because no one seems to do them crispy like I like them. Cook's Country says to brush them with some bacon fat on the bottom, so I did and then cooked the pre-made skins until crispy. Then, I loaded them with cheese and bacon and put them back in so the cheese would melt. Topped with Mexican sour cream and green onions. They were mighty fine.

I use to meet up with friends at the old Grits bar to play pool. They had the best pickled eggs. But they made me fart something terrible. I would make a shot and blow a big fart and my friends would have to walk through it..the good ole days.

I know it’s not really on theme but if you have the fryer going consider something sweet like fried candy bars. Kids will love them and plenty of adults have a sweet tooth

Pubs in Eastern Canada would have absolutely included PEI mussels and fries topped with either a marinara or cream sauce.

Poutine should be on that list too.

I have. Hasn’t worked out well. No big deal. Not something I love anyway.

Buffalo Chicken wings with blue cheese or southwest egg rolls with whatever that crack laced dipping sauce is.

Also, cheese fries done right. Crispy fries, covered in a mix of real grated cheeses, put in a broiler, then topped with green onions.
