I always wished we could have a good German sausage house/Beer hall in Louisiana.

Do you have a patent on that name. Lavakumar Kanakamadala might be interested.

Yes. Very much so.

Hazy memory of an Indian restaurant off Perkins near the overpass by Zee Zee gardens. Cannot remember the name or exact locale, but I think I ate there in the early 90s.

When I lived in BR I wished there was a good German or Jewish deli. Since moving away I would say a fast Jamaican place with oxtails and jerk chicken.

Yes.
And it baffles me that we don't have a legit raman shop in town.

BR had Ronnie's Ribs, which was great, and nobody went. There also was a German restaurant — The Black Forest — downtown. Again, nobody went. Pinnettas still serves some good stuff. Bratz Y’all opened in New Orleans earlier this year and is solid. I also recommend the Germanfest in Roberts Cove held in October.

Yes on the Jamaican too, but alas, as previously mentioned, Ronnie's Ribs was one of my favorite places to eat in the city.
As far as German, I never did get to Black Forest because I cook dishes like Wiener Schnitzel and Sauerbraten often from my family recipes. No reason to run out to a restaurant when I can make these at home. Ironically, I'm making Rouladen tonight.
I would love to implode all of the imposter wannabe Japanese places for one true restaurant that would serve dishes like Oden, Shabu Shabu, Chawanmushi and other dishes most here have never heard of because, well, none of the restaurants in Baton Rouge serve them because they aren't really Japanese. Their specialty is rolling fake crab in rice, then squeezing aioli generously over it, then piling on crunchy crap. Somehow that's supposed to be Japanese cuisine. Dammit, ya got me started again.
I second the Korean suggestion.
One place I dearly miss in Baton Rouge is Montana's, which was a Colombian place. Their Bandeja Paisa dish was awesome.

Bratz Y’all is legit....nuremberger brats, schnitzel, even schweinhaxe on Sundays.
