I am trying to expand my home bar and mixology capabilities. I currently keep bottles of Green Chartreuse, Campari, Grand Marnier, Absinthe, and St Germain on hand.

What are the F&D Boards favorite and essential liqueurs that I should add to the collection? If you have a cocktail recommendation using your nominee, it would be much appreciated as well.

Cointreau and lillet blanc would be my next move for you.

my all time favorite cocktail the corpse reviver 2

Absinthe, to rinse
3/4 ounce dry gin
3/4 ounce Lillet blanc
3/4 ounce orange liqueur
3/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed

combine and stir with ice until freezing cold and strain into the absinth rinsed glass

Lillet blanc is good one. I like Corpse Reviver #2 and could also use it for a Vesper. I'll add it to my shopping list

Probably goes without saying, but you can't make a White Russian, B-52, or Mudslide without some Kahlua or other coffee liqueur.

Every good cocktail bar has similar key characteristics. The following should be a good place to start. I kept this concise as to not overwhelm the thread.

Amaro
*Cynar
*Montenegro
*Ciaciaro
*Nonino

Bitters
*Buy a sample pack of scrappy or bittermens bitters

Vermouth
*Carpano Antica Formula is the benchmark for sweet vermouth. They also produce a bianco(white) and a dry(white) that are very good quality.

Liqueurs
*B&B
*St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram

Good cherries
Bailey’s
Kahlua
I’m assuming you have bitters?
Vermouth as said
The best thing is to go to a good liquor store and look in the liqueur section.

If you want to make one of the greatest cocktails in the history of cocktails, then get yourself one of each of these. Your Aviation will thank you for it

as for the recipe, Difford's guide is fantastic. They have tons of cocktail recipes and a large community to go with it. This is a wonderful website in general.

Lots of good recommendations so far. As a fellow at home cocktail enthusiast I’ll also add these:

Benedictine
Aperol
Fernet Branca

A Toronto made with Fernet Branca and Basil Hayden’s dark rye is one of my favorite drinks.

The aperol is versatile, but my favorite use is with Mezcal in a naked and famous.

I second the luxardo maraschino originale as well. This is also used in a Hemingway daiquiri.

Punt e mes is a nice bitter-sweet variation of vermouth that can make a great vieux carre.

I picked up some Lillet Blanc, Benedictine, and Luxardo Maraschino yesterday. Made a Corpse Reviver No.2 and Vieux Carre last night.

I live in Hemingway's hometown, so a Hemingway daquiri seems fitting. I'll have to pickup some grapefruit tonight. Might also get some crème de violette for an Aviation this weekend.

I appreciate all the recs, keep em coming. I still have a ways to go until I have a fully armed and operational bar

My home bar certainly isn’t the worlds most impressive, but I can make a pretty wide variety of cocktails with this.

I also keep vermouths, lemon/lime/grapefruit juices in the fridge at all times. I currently have creme de menthe and creme de cacao as well.
