No Nina Compton,
That’s not that surprising. She’s fallen out of favor a little. Kingswya just opened so I’m not surprised there. Agreed that lufu is a fricking joke.

I've never heard a single person ever mention lufu, ever
For them to be on there and not Peche is super odd

My hot take on very overrated poboys.

Maybe 7 years ago.
I'm pretty out of the NOLA food scene since moving so haven't been to a few of these places and some of the other ones mentioned as snubs, but

has been my favorite place in the city for a long time, so glad they got some love.
Pretty crazy no Peche either.

I know its unpopular on here to say it, but I used to love Turkey. They were putting out so much awesome food awhile back. The pork and peppers on roti is one of the best things I had ever had in this city.
But they have been resting on reputation for at least 5-6 years now. As his group expands to other restaurants and Nashville, they are just putting out the same lazy menu year after year

If I never have to see this place glorified on my TV screen re: New Orleans food ever again, it will still be too soon.

I can sort of “get” the splash of this place and what he’s doing with it.
Hungry Eyes is little more than a pure troll, however.

I haven't been in years, but I liked it when it was new. I just think they got way too overrated on a national level.
I wonder how much R&D is done when they're scouting cities for this stuff. Like do we think places like Peche didn't get mentioned because they simply didn't go?
It's kinda funny to see our cities through the eyes of outsiders. Places that people who live in New Orleans seldom visit or even think about getting praise, places that have kinda already had their moment years ago getting praise, etc.
Side note. Domilise's - Isn't that the place that puts ketchup on their shrimp poboys with no warning?
Such a pet peeve of mine.

They went to Peche twice and invited them to the ceremony. So…
They have a pretty tireless amount of people that go to these places a lot.

The food has always been pretty good. Never terrible.
The food has never matched the hype though.

It was really fun and interesting food that tasted great, and Mason was always great at marketing to the specific people that care about this stuff
Now its just lazy

Would the price point at Peche keep them from BG? It isn’t one star worthy service-wise.

Acamaya is more expensive and Cochon is similarly priced and with the exact same restaurant group

One tried DC twice and their place in the airport one time. It's just ok. Much better places in the city to get soul food.

They randomly put the lamb neck roti on the menu for a New York second earlier this year. Like you said, one of the very best things I’ve ever had in this city.
