I usually give more direction to hostess/host about preferences and not just leave it to chance so I can bitch about them later

I’ve never been on crutches, so I probably wouldn’t have put 2 and 2 together and thought you couldn’t walk to the back. In a perfect world, yes, the hostess would know and think of it.
Seems like just a regular day and a regular problem. Nothing to whine to a board about. And in her defense, she probably get the waiters on her arse if she “screws” one over by not following the rotation.
