Going to be downtown from sat morning to tuesday afternoon.
Will see the late show at Comedy Mothership sat (july 1st) at 10pm.
Good food, Japanese, Steak, ETC....
We are definitely more quality over quantity. Nothing over 100/person for dinner.
Suggestions? LL? I know yall do food vacations.
Breakfast
Veracruz tacos are very good. Plenty of options as well.
LA crepe was outstanding. We got one savory one sweet. Both very good and no flavors overpowered. The crossiant with side of Nutella hit the spot too. Buttery and delicious.
Dinner cause we didn't really eat lunch (late breakfast)
ATX cocina was outstanding. The brisket queso fundido and fresh corn tortillas was so good. We also got carne asada and street corn... Which was very good but I'm still thinking about those corn tortillas and queso.
Terry Black's Barbecue doesn't require a review. We all know it's good. I've been to Franklin and I'm not sure how you'd rate one over the other.
Comedy Mothership
This was so much fun. We did a headliner in the main room (fat man) sat night, and picked up tickets to open mic last night at 10 dollars a seat. Both of events had my face hurting they were so funny. The open mic guys seem to also work there and some had some cringe stuff but for the most part very funny.
You get there about 30 minutes early. There is a line on the adjacent street which they check tickets and talk to you about how it works. Very efficient. They seat you at closest available. 2 drink min each person. They do yonder bags for your phone and smart watch.
Mitzi's bar is a little hard to find but it's in the building. I didn't see it bc it was closed on Sunday night.
We stayed at the Fairmont with a Vegas style pool on the 7th floor. Met some good people and did a lot of dooshbag people watching. Drinks at the pool were outrageously expensive and just okay. My Amex card gave us 100 dollar credit and we blue through that with 5 or 6 drinks. Still had 10... But it was a good time.
Hanging out today. Uchi sushi tonight.

No availability any of the days we are there.
Is it an easy open bar area?

It gets packed as soon as the doors open. If you can get there 10-15 mins before opening and wait in line you can probably get a table or spot at the bar. Lots of good stuff on the bar menu.
ATX Cocina

Was reading this thread and planning to suggest this, we've been twice now and love the place.
We went a couple months ago with a group of 5 and just ordered a bunch of stuff to split, we got the tuna tostadas, queso fundido, guacamole, sopes, short rib, and carne asada. Everyone had two rounds of drinks, total bill with a tip came to ~$80 per person. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often. They've also recently opened a sister restaurant called Bulevar that I plan to try next time in Austin.

Did anyone say ATX Cocina yet?

Uchi is incredible, but I don't know if under $100/person. Depends what kind of sushi orderers/drinkers y'all are.
I couldn't get into Red Ash when I tried last week, but man it looks great.
I wouldn't want to go to Austin and not do BBQ at least once. Terry Black's is awesome. You wait in line, but I doubt I was in line longer than 45 minutes when I went for a Sunday lunch.

The only seating I can do is outside there at 830pm. does it have fans? I know it will be hot, but do they make it somewhat comfortable?

It's tiny and the only food I remember getting in the bar is free bites, no bar menu. While Uchi is amazing (wife's fave) it's not terribly Austin or TX. Did you try sister restaurant Uchiko?

I’m going the following weekend. Everything has been sold out. Please come back and give a review
The website says two drink minimum and the pics on Google maps suggest there is a bar lounge separate from the theaters, but it looks small. I would imagine they shuffle you in and shuffle you out after words so the 10pm showing can go
