Do you stick to the same menu items or are you an explorer?

I tend to try something different every time I visit a particular restaurant, at least until I find a menu item that I really like. I've noticed some, my SO for instance, tend to order the same thing every visit. For instance, at Albasha, she will always get the veggie plate with the same 5 items. I have likely tried every dish on the menu, but about half the time I get, my favorite, the combo salad.
Not saying one type of diner is more sophisticated or has better taste, just curious about peoples dining habits.

Explorer here, always looking for something different.

I'd like to say I'm an explorer, but I mostly go for the same 2-3 things. It just feels like I'm an explorer because we eat at so many different and often new restaurants.

I like to explore but somewhat sadly if I ever eat something I really, really like I tend to keep ordering the same thing because I get to craving it big time. Every single time I go to Parrains I order the BBQ Black Drum. Or fajitas from Ninfas on Navigation. I’ll roll up into a place like Dangs and swear I’m going to try something new and I’ll order the pho with all the different cuts of beef in it. Thank goodness I travel a lot with my job and eat at new places so I’m forced to try new things.

It really depends on where I’m eating. At some spots I’ll get the same thing, typically at casual restaurants. At “better” restaurants I typically venture out and try new things.

A little bit of both. I’m willing to explore but can’t make a decision to save my life. Consistently, when wanting to explore I always give the waiter 2-3 choices and ak them to decide for me.

At Mexican restaurants I will try different things. At Arby’s, I have eaten there hundreds of times in my life but have only ever had the roast beef classic combo with tons of Arby’s sauce.

I tend to let the wait/kitchen staff decide for me. I let them know my food allergies and general food preferences and let them bring me the best they have to offer. I eat a wide variety of foods so it can be interesting. Once I've been to a place more than a few times, I don't even look at a menu or discuss offerings, they just bring me food. Often it can be a dish I've had previously and really enjoyed, but sometimes they will bring me a new special or creation by the chef.
It helps that when I eat with other people I always insist on eating family style, so the kitchen will often send out 3 dishes for 2 people allowing us to dine on several entrees bringing the rest home.

You sound very high maintenance

Really the opposite. The kitchen can send out the usual or get the opportunity to try out a new dish then come out and talk to me about it. Most places love it.

I'm torn on this one. I want to try something different every time, but I find it very hard to try new menu items after I find something on a menu that is just delicious. If that happens the first time I go to a restaurant, I'm unlikely to really try everything they cook.

I typically get whatever the night’s special is. It doesn’t matter what it is. I normally don’t even ask unless there’s more than one.
This way, I’m always eating something different. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don’t.

What do you blow them or something

I bring a lot of business. Share recipes. and frequent their restaurants regularly.

I generally try new things, but if I’ve gotten something I really like at the restaurant, I may be cautious to try something else
