Blue Store is good but not very many people are brave enough to venture out there. I still prefer Chicken Shack though.

The sides are as good as the chicken: smothered green beans, greens, etc.

Just no! Chicken Shack has the GOAT chicken, but the sides are pathetic. No-flavor red beans, plastic-tasting dirty rice, just nasty mac n'cheese.

Get the chicken from the Shack and go next door to Church's for your sides.

There's one on Acadian just north of Florida and another location off of Plank Road not too far from Tony's.

I will never agree that Piccadilly has the best anything. Frikking hate that place.

My favorite new fried chicken spot is Boil n Roux on Coursey. I highly recommend it.

How the Church's next door to the Chicken Shack stays open is beyond me. Never a car in the lot.

And I had a damn good Dixie Maid cheeseburger in the hood today.

Yeah, Chicken Shack sides are pretty disappointing. The red beans are bland. But that chicken doe.

I recently discovered that I like goodwood grill burger better than Dixie made. Chicken shack pork chop Sammich though.

Snowflake off E Washington had good fried chicken but I'm sure the place has long been bulldozed.

A long time ago, like a really long time ago, you could get a bowl of gumbo for $2 and it was legit.
