Dinner in Monroe

So it looks like our trip is being rerouted to Monroe instead of Ruston. So, where can 4 guys on a golf trip get dinner?
We plan to drink some beers and grab a bite. Nothing fancy, but don’t want to eat crap in a college bar.

The one dinner I have ever eaten in Monroe, La was at the Waterfront Grill. It was good enough.

Walk On’s in WM.
But eat local. Parish is excellent. But a bit upscale.
Cotton is still very good.
Doe’s is great for a really good steak.
Trio’s or Portico will provide the local “Chimes” alternative. Good food options and excellent martinis.

Both of those or Daqs is wings and burgers and beers and such. But if you are having beers and youre by walkons the other stuff is 15 minutes or so away from where you're staying

Daqs looks like it would work too. Walk in’s is right next to us though.
How is the Uber/Lyft situation in Monroe?

I believe you should have decent access to Uber/Lyft...I've heard of no problems, in any event. For wings/burgers/beer etc, Daqs would be a fine choice.

Portico is solid and has a nice bar
Does has great steak and a killer bourbon selection and it doesn't feel fancy, but you gonna pay.
Guess those are the places I would think of when eating with 4 dudes who want to eat/drink/have a good time

It was totally renovated in the late 90s. Good damn food, but I always think of the $5 at the door all you could drink drafts and well drinks and the drinking age was 18 back in the late 80s and early 90s at the Siesta.

Siesta for beer, pool and sweat.
Tonga Island for the big arse bowl of Jungle Juice with 3 ft. straws.
Sals for some good bands that were on the climb. Also could stagger across the street and get breakfast.
Dynasty to hang with KC and his sunshine gals.
Electric Circus for Rock & Disco.
The place out on 165 North, Red Dog Saloon, that you brought your own booze to and danced with Percy Sledge and his band til 2am.
Head to Pit Grill for breakfast and then get ready for Saturday night.
A friend told me all this,, maybe it’s true?

I remember Percy Sledge was always on his "farewell tour." He must have had eight or nine of them.
Anyone remember the "beach" over by Farmerville or whatever where they had bands in the summer?
Anyway...Gino's and The Mohawk would be my recommendations if they're open .
