I'm not trying to be a negative Nancy but I've been underwhelmed the 3 times I've eaten there.
It's not bad by any stretch, but certainly not worth the price. The strip was my favorite cut I had there.

I’m sure my experience was an anomaly, but I ate there once and it was pretty bad. I ordered a NY strip and got a vein steak, which comes from part of the strip loin that has an inedible tendon running through it. We had ordered mashed potatoes as a side and they legit tasted like glue. Was a shame because I really admire Dockie Brennan. He intervied me when I went to culinary school and I’ve interacted with him a few times over the years. He even sat down at my table that night before the food came out.

If you are wanting the best steak diner in NOLA, you are not going to have it there.

I have only been once, and it was a few years ago. I had long heard of the Brennan name around the NOLA food scene. I was underwhelmed like many others here apparently. Steak was okay, nothing special. I don't plan on going back.

Agree with everything you said. Strip is best too.
Last few years I have also been unimpressed.
I went in January and something changed. Steak was really good. Sides were better than last few times I went.

I've been only once and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Cowboy cut. I haven't been back because I know they can't possibly meet my new expectations. Haha

I like it but my current favorite local steakhouse is Desi Vega's. The reason I don't go to Dickie Brennan's more often is because I would rather walk down the block and go to Galatoire's.
