This is still an ongoing process it seems we're still trying to fine tune it. Hell, chime in now!

From reading the comments I just want to make some of my own. I was under the impression that all 4 ingredients had to be incorporated into the entrée, app, or desert. I wanted to do boneless roasted ducks stuffed with chorizo polenta topped with mushroom/stout reduction and serve with a side of peppermint candied sweet potatoes, but I was under the impression that I had to incorporate all 4 ingredients in one aspect, if you will. I guess I need clarification. Second, I read some comments about smothering with cheese to hide toppings, etc. I prepared the dish as I would serve it in a restaurant. Even though I wanted people to see the reduction, I figured the cheese smothered on top was the more attractive option. The ingredients did all pull together greatly in this dish and the burger was damn solid.

Beer dough pizza crust made with stout is bitter bitter bitter and bad. Will say more later.

Would have been perfectly acceptable.

I think it is up to the chef how they want to incorporate the ingredients.
I personally think it shows much more understanding of the ingredients if you are able to incorporate all of them into a singular item and make it not be disgusting

Me, too. I was on the fence on submitting an entry, but I was sick all weekend and just didn't have the energy or motivation after that.
I was going to prepare Chorizo and Shitake mushroom enchiladas with a chocolate peppermint stout mole sauce.
ETA: Garnished with peppermint bacon and those little beer beads...

I made that comment originally, and it was tongue in cheek. I voted for your's and thought everything you did warranted the highest of accolades. I'd work over that burger in a heartbeat.

Thanks R2R.
I would have smashed those beans and chorizo!

I have a pic of it cut open after I smashed it down and was about to dig in. It's not a good pic by any means, but I forgot to get a cross cut section so I hurried and grabbed the camera.
