Isn't it already smoked? And you can have it a little pink.

Spanish chorizo is usually cured and smoked
Mexican chorizo is usually cased and raw

That's right. The chorizo was like a paste it was so fine. Had to wait until it was done.

The fact that it was a chorizo "burger" was one of the reasons I voted it first.

If it had been ground beef, no way, no matter how good it looked. I'm thinking others may have thought the same

Same with the meatloaf dish.

Just looked for this to vote. I see by the title that I'm too late, but everyone did a bang up job on this with those ingredients. Hard to decide, but I'm going to vote anyway even though it doesn't count.

I give #7 the creativity award.

I thought #1 looked tasty and I'd give it my #1.

Burger looks darn good and I'm attracted to melted cheese in a big way, so #4 gets #2 for me.

I like pizza and I already told you about the melted cheese issue, so #2 is my #3.

Honorable mention goes to #6. I'm not a big black bean fan, but that looks and sounds like a good tasting dish. It might have gotten a higher number if not for the cheese issue and no transformation of the chorizo. Put some cheese on top of that and it would have made the top 3.

The chorizo meatloaf and stout mushroom sauce were both delicious. The peppermint stout dressing was a little off... would need to try that again.

Good stuff. Entries 1 and 4 were pretty much consensus the leaders of the pack .. and such different approaches which goes to show posters voted unbiasedly and based on both their personal preference and overall quality.

much obliged. in hindsight I definitely think I needed to get more creative, specifically with the chorizo .. and considering how outside the box most people thought and executed. I was going to top it with some queso fresco but couldn't find any for the life of me. had some asiago but didn't think it would work well here.

looking forward to January's contest ! hope we can get some more chefs on board for that one and figure out the formatting a little better.

That burger looks amazing. I have some venison at home and some chorizo, I think I know what I'm going to do with it.

LINK

I got the idea browsing this blog.

It's a pretty cool site for anyone who likes to cook with beer.

She had a steak, covered in a stout/mushroom sauce in one of her posts, which led to this idea.

I forget, what type of cheese was that on the burger?

Think a little Gouda would have been an interesting pair. I may try that soon.

I just got a load back from the processor. Had to find some way to incorporate it.
