My source has told me there is another price increase this week. Just throwing it out there in case anybody is making plans this weekend.

I thought by now I would`ve had a couple of boils, but the price and production is going in the opposite direction.

Two weeks in a row they are increasing. Out of principle, I may wait until after Easter. Easter is later than normal this year, it is April 20th.

Everything we've seen has been tiny crawfish. It needs to warm up so they'll grow some.

Think they are high now, wait until Good Friday through Easter.

I've made it a habit to not even think about boiling crawfish until after Easter the past few years.

I know what the pattern has been.

Honestly, it usually holds or drops a little every couple of weeks up until Easter weekend and then it goes up .25 or .50 cents a pound that weekend.

Just ordered a sack & a 1/2. Spring break on TX beach with niece & nephews plus friends. Vehicles on the beach and brown water, it’s the best we have without driving 12 hours.

We have too. I refuse to pay what they are asking for them now, I can do without them

Yep, I'll settle for a good shrimp boil and come out way ahead when it comes to $$$ to pull it off.

Bro, if you’re not fricking your crawfish source for a discount, you’re leaving money on the table

I talked to a crawfish farmer on Sunday. He said that he is getting $2.50 per pound. But immediately, the wholesaler is selling the crawfish for $4.00 per pound. And then if you go out and get some at a restaurant, they charge up to $9.00 per pound.

Isn't that kinda how it's supposed to work?

You think it’s right for a wholesaler to make $1.50 a pound for transporting crawfish when a farmer is getting $2.50 a pound to actually catch the crawfish? That math doesn’t add up

This is one from my friend's boil a couple of weeks ago. It was field run so about half were this size, and the rest were smaller, but even the smallest ones were north of "tiny".

That's huge compared to what I've been seeing at Sammy's, Hot Tails, Willy's, etc.
The amount of meat I get out of those is popcorn shrimp size.
They all have the same presentation - they put the larger crawfish on the top of the pile when they hand it to you.
