I almost always do the traditional for fixins: celery, onions, garlic, hot dogs, sausage, corn, mushrooms, potatoes.
Anything else highly suggested in the boil for fixins?

We went through a phase where we tried anything and everything in the crawfish boil, and it's fun to experiment, but ultimately we ended up with a lot of things uneaten and wasted.
Of the "different" things we have done, carrots and sweet potatoes are the favorites. Some of the other recommended ones like asparagus, green beans, brussels sprouts, tortellini, etc. were fun, but nobody has ever cared to eat more than a taste. We don't even do sausage anymore.
EDIT - Edamame, as someone mentioned above, is one that's always a hit.

This and okra, but do the okra LAST. It tastes great, but makes the water slimy.

I never use hot dogs and prefer to use good smoked sausage instead.
My basic fixin list is onions, celery, lemons, bay leaves, garlic, mushrooms, corn and the small potatoes.
I've also used whole artichokes, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower and believe it or not, I've used some of the boiling liquid in a smaller pot to boil a corned beef and it came out killer.

Nontraditional fixings:
Broccoli - it's good but you gotta be careful as it tends to fall apart and get all over everything else.
Cactus (nopales) cut into strips
Baby Bok Choy (After killing the heat)
Golden beats (peeled and cut up into 1-2" pieces)
Peppers - I love hot peppers in a boil. Some to eat but some to flavor the water. I'll fill up a blender with serranos and habaneros and water, liquify it, and add to the boil for the last batch. I cut up jalapenos lengthwise and add to the boil, and leave some whole. It adds a different flavor / hotness than red pepper that goes well with everything.

sausage anymore
Yeah we stopped doing it as well. We have sausage every time we grill and prefer it that way. They just seemed to go to waste.

I might like it better than the crawfish. And I love crawfish. But good lord does it come at a price.

I can’t get on board with hotdogs. I love a hotdog but a wiener boiled in crab boil and eaten plain (or even on a bun) is just nasty. This is why God created smoked sausage.

Kids tend to grab a hot dog, if nothing else.

As mentioned above, God created smoked sausage to go on a charcoal grill.
But yeah, y'all can keep those hotdogs.

Sweet Potatoes
Broccoli (large size heads of broccoli, anything smaller gets too mushy)
Hunks of fresh pineapple
