Chipotle Carnitas shortage

Has anybody else experienced this. All locations in Charlotte are currently experiencing a shortage of carnitas due to what they call a "pork shortage" however the barbacoa is still available. I asked the employees how this is possible, obviously they don't know. Then they said it may be a month before carnitas is back on the menu. Yes I'm mad.

They cancelled their contract with their pork supplier. And it's Chipotle, so the barbacoa is probably 90% rat meat.

The vendor that chipotle use for there carnitas was not treating pigs humanly so they stopped using them. Oh and Barbacoa is from a cow, carnitas is from a pig. I'm sure the employees didn't know that either.

The only time I've been to chipotle they had a shortage on peppers.

I've never gotten the fascination with Chipotle. I mean, it's better than Moe's bland food, but it doesn't excite me like it does for what seems like most people who eat there.
We were supposed to be getting a Chipotle here right across from Moe's on King, but it's been like a year plus since that rumor started. The building on the corner is still bare bones.

I tend to get it quite often when I am on the road traveling. Quick meal and always consistent. Beats burger fast food any day.

Since they opened one in Lafayette, I eat there 2-3 times a week. The burrito bowl is my go to. It's quick, easy, consistent, and I love it. I do steak and chicken though.

same here...I eat it once a week. Usually get barbacoa/chicken so this carnitas news doesn't affect me.

People hate on chipotle bc the husky baws can't get their precious queso and assorted ranch dressings

Some relief coming LINK.
One of their suppliers is dipping into it's pork reserves....who knew they kept reserves. They are also looking to hire some hog farmers for those of you getting laid off from the oil patch.
